VISION FOR MINISTRY IN AFRICA
1. OUTREACH MISSIONS ,EVANGELISM AND CHURCH PLANTING: Apostle
Cleophas Barasa Makona was ordained pastor on September 7th 1994.In 1996-1999
worked as a director with International Accelerated Missions from U.S.A. and
taught as a bible teacher also. In 2000 was promoted to be a District
evangelist of western Kenya region and in 2002 was promoted to national
mission evangelist of World Revival and Salvation Ministries Inc. In October
2004 Apostle Makona founded Return To Jesus Christ Mission Africa. His wife
Beatrice teaches women Bible classes in several churches as well as raising 6
children. The Return to Jesus Christ mission Africa is working with other
ministries to reach the harvest (unity) Through conferences and crusades.
We are also helping to raise up leaders especially in the most remote areas
where there is literally very limited ministry training opportunities. This
has been a very important arm of our ministry since it is reaching people in
different fields who may have perished in sin, not because they hate God, but
because they have never been reached by any one. This Ministry needs
instruments for the church and the crusade outreaches and a truck for
transportation and church planting. A four wheel drive vehicle diesel engine
for the ministry headquarters for the work in Kenya and Uganda. Bicycles and
motorbikes for the workers who now walk long distances to minister in remote
rural areas. Founder/Director and other leaders need any kind of support to
enable them to oversee the work in Kenya and Uganda. Our churches are in
western Kenya and eastern Uganda on the slopes of Mount Elgon. This ministry
is also reaching very remote areas where many of the pastors and members do
not have enough resources to construct churches or buy fields for
construction. Most of them are rental buildings which are again a struggle to
pay monthly rent. some churches because of this just worship under trees and
this makes services very difficulty during rainy seasons. One of our basic
needs is to buy plots and construct. and the cost of a plot in rural areas is
$800 and in urban areas its $2500.
The average cost of constructing a temporary church building is $600.sometimes
in rural areas some members do offer plots but construction is always a
problem.
2. TRACTS DISTRIBUTION: As we evangelize people we give out
tracts, Bibles and Christian literature.
3. ORPHANAGE: Many children, as we preach across the land,
are parentless because of HIV/Aids. As a ministry we started "Return to
Jesus Christ Mission Children Home" to have a few of these children cared for
(James 1:26-27), already the church assists more than 20 children in one way
or another. Jesus himself was an example when he fed the hungry.
There are so many children in our community who still need this kind of help.
The Lord offered us a field for construction, but it has never been easy for
us to construct. We are praying about the possibility of building this home.
Once the construction is over we will be able to increase the number of
orphans and also adopt some street destitute children.
4. LIBRARY CENTRE: As a ministry in Africa we have a library
open to anybody, equipped with different Christian literature to help men and
women of God to learn more pertaining the work of God. Literature and books
are needed and can be send to us.
5 HOME BASED CARE FOR HIV/AIDS VICTIMS
The scourge of HIV/AIDS is a big problem in Africa today. Most of the victims
infected by AIDS are often neglected, and
rejected by the members of their families. Our ministry established a way that
could show love and acceptance to this victims.
Currently we are offering HIV/AIDS awareness training and behaviour change. We
are also assist the victims on counseling and above all we are assisting over
18 patients now with home based care. An expression as a mercy ministry.
