All Glory to Jesus! The first annual conference for apostles was very powerful. About 350-400 apostles from 5 nations gathered in Museum Hall in Kitale, Kenya to receive excellent teaching and powerful impartation and encouragement. Apostles Robert Makona, David Waako and Peter Whitehouse were used by God to exhort, edify and correct. In addition, many apostles met privately or in small groups and they confided in one another and even confessed sin to one another... and they were healed and built-up. This was a very important 3 day meeting.
Apostle Peter reminded the group that we are looking for quality not quantity. There should be no one joining IAN simply to receive a title. Only true apostles should be a part of the International Apostolic Network. He taught about the gifting and office of apostle and what it means to be an apostle. Apostle Makona spoke about the quest for unity and the need to take action... to put into practice the things that were taught at this conference. Apostle Waako exposed some serious faults regarding the use of our time and the need to stop looking to others to provide money. He said, "The same biblical principles used by 'whites' will work for Africans." He is proving this himself through the projects that he manages in Uganda.
We also heard powerful testimonies from the representatives of several regional apostolic councils. It is very clear that God is using IAN to bring unity and to strengthen the church throughout the land! There was a commissioning service on Sunday and many new apostles were commissioned and empowered. Praise the Lord!
The leadership of IAN wants to thank all who helped make this conference a success including the staff at the Alakara Hotel for providing meals and those helping at the Kitale Revival Center to offer sleeping accommodations. May God richly bless you!
Next IAN Conference: Kampala, Uganda... Dec. 2008 or Jan. 2009. Plan to be there!
