SALVATION

I was born on 12th July 1950 in a family where both my parents were not Christians.

I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal saviour in the year 1970.I was a student in form two at Mawego Technical School by then. This brought me a lot of problems because my parents did not want me to attend Christian gatherings neither did they allow me to attend church services. My secondary education was also threatened by them not paying my school fees.

I fasted for three days with deep prayers and supplication then I saw the hands of Christ reach me through my elder brother who supported me fully and asked my parents not to interfere with my faith. After one year God did His wonders because I kept on praying for my parents to be enlightened to know the word of God and my mother was saved and baptized in the same church. Three years later my father also got saved and was baptized.

I thank God who has promised me that even though the righteous will suffer so much persecution He will be with them and deliver them and that is what has happened to me for I have faced so many trials and I have been able to conquer them through Christ Jesus.

MARRIAGE

I got married to my beloved wife Rachael Akinyi in the year 1975 and God has blessed as with five children .We live together as husband and wife in Jesus Christ. As Jesus himself being the head of the church we are also one in Him. She has humbled herself to me and I have given her all my love. "I thank God for my wonderful wife Rachael Akinyi ‘my lover, my friend” with whom we have achieved so much in the Lord.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I was employed by the Kenya government in the year 1975 as a Motor Vehicle/Plant Mechanic. I started at a very low scale but by the grace of God I was promoted and I retired from the public Service in 2005 having attained the post of Deputy District Mechanical Officer.

LORDS OUTREACH MINISTRIES

I founded this ministry in October 2004.I attended a camp meeting organized by the Seventh Day Adventist in Rusinga Island. As I was walking along the lakeside I witnessed something which blotted the sleep from my eyes that night. I witnessed young girls going out with old men, young boys going out with old women because of poverty and lack of knowledge. On that night through the Holy Spirit I read the book of Hosea Chapter four verse six which states” My people perish for lack of knowledge”. As I gathered more information about what was going on there I was told that HIV/ Aids had wiped out so many families and there were so many orphans .From that moment onward the Lord placed a burden in me to start a ministry to reach out to this population and bring change with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On leaving that camp I prayed and God gave me a chance to revisit the place where we organized a crusade which yielded much fruit and many souls gave their life to Jesus. I thanked God for that mission and from then I was encouraged to continue ministering in different places.

By the grace of God I have been able to go to other Islands on Lake Victoria namely Mfangano Island, Kendu Bay, Muhuru Bay, and other towns such as Migori, Oyugis, Kosele and now I am preparing to go to Southern Sudan on a mission. And it is my desire that I even reach Darfur a place that is a menace and I believe that it is not guns or worldly armies that will bring a change but the Gospel of Jesus.

MY VISION

To Reach the Needy With the Word of God That Is Able To Change Their Lives

MY MISSION

Reach Out To the People with the Practical Word of God That Will Impact Their Lives Wherever They Are.

Oyugis is my base from where I intend to reach other places. Poverty is very rampant along the Lake and as a ministry we are out to teach the people the principles of God of coming out of poverty and giving them vocational training in different fields.

Curbing the HIV pandemic is one of our main agendas. Together with the government and other stakeholders we want to ensure that the people have got clean water. As we teach the people on divine health which the Lord gives as we also want to set up Medical Centers where the people can be given medication.

We are also out to ensure that the people in the places we reach are able to access educational facilities so as to deal with illiteracy which is also a big problem. Last but not least we want to crusade against Female Genital Mutilation. (FGM)

Right now as I write plans are underway to go to Southern Sudan for a mission.
