SALVATION

I was born in a religious home not saved. I went to church every Sunday, sung songs, played dramas but I had no peace in my life. At the age of fourteen I felt the emptiness and totally desperate. I thought that was just the end of my life.  A preacher talked to us in a football field in the morning when you have no peace with God, you are lost. He quoted the God of Samuel from 1 Sam 3:19-20 whom he had brought to us and whoever will be forgiven forever. It was on Sunday of 27th December 1987. He taught us the plan of salvation from Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. And Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord”. And Rom 10:9-10 “that if we confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. He asked us to weigh ourselves and see if we were lost or not. I realized that I was lost.

I chose to accept Jesus Christ as my personal saviour by inviting Him into my life through faith and by His grace, I received the gift of salvation (Eph 2:9-10). I laid all unto Him as it says in Gal 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of god, who loved me and gave Himself for me”. I felt the peace of God, Joy and His assurance of salvation. I was later baptized by immersion in water and fully joined our local church fellowship. My family was unhappy. They felt I was the most lost by not choosing a good career in life. I continued to live a life prayer, reading, studying and by witnessing Christ to the Unsaved obeying God’s word that made me to continually love and pray for them.

 CONCLUSION

My church has Muslims, slum dwellers, traditionalists, cults, alcoholics and other religious people. This has made me to be always involved in person to person evangelism on daily basis, at least two open gospel preachings a week, discipling the saved and training the faithful to reach out our community based in 2 Tim 2:2. Currently, I have a team of seven in evangelism ministry always, reminding the believers in our church that all of us are called to evangelize the world (Matt 28: 19-20) as we plant new churches. The greatest prayer of my heart is that God will allow and enable me to reach as many people as I can based on the calling of Jesus Christ in my life. I have seen God using me in missions here in Kenya and even other nations where I have gone purposely to evangelize like Tanzania, Uganda, DRC (Congo0, Burundi and Rwanda. I thank God for having taken care of my wife and my children as well as my church under my great ministry philosophy that:

“All for God’s Glory and not man”, (Col 3:23).
