I
am Elijah Lukalia Shitambasi born on 17th July, 1965 in the country
of Kenya, western part, North Kakamega district, Kabras Division, East Kabras
location, Kakunga sub-location, Mukangu village, along Kakamega – Webuye road,
Kambiri junction. I am the eldest son brought up in the poor family of 11
children: 4 girls and 7 boys. I started my education in the year 1970. My
parents were in one of the indigenous churches in Africa by the name African
Israel, Nineveh Headquarters. At the age of 12 years my father died and I was in
Standard Four. One of my step fathers joined together with my mother to support
me to continue with education. In 1985 I completed Form Four Secondary
education. During this time I tried to look for employment but all was in vain.
Even though I was attending church services but I came to know that I was not saved because I loved drumming the drum and jumping up and down and practiced the belief and faith of my denomination. It was a must for one to be looked upon as holy, to wear on his head a white hat and long dress written upon the initial A.I.C.N in red colour. This indicates that we are the Lord’s chosen people who were brought from the land of Egypt to Canaan. I really obeyed this to be holy but after the fellowship, I would put off the church uniform and wear in my heart “hatred, contentions, outbursts of wrath, pride, envy and rudeness” knowing that it was my right to do anything after I have removed the church uniform.
In
1987 I visited a Baptist fellowship whereby I heard a sermon preached from the
book of Galatians 5: 19-21. I matched what I was doing with
what the scripture was saying and immediately I heard something
repeating several times in my heart “those who practice such things will not
inherit the Kingdom of God.” Now I thought of my sin of hatred, contentions,
outbursts of wrath, pride, envy and rudeness. I cried out for forgiveness and
repented my sin. When I knew that God had set me free, I asked for forgiveness
from all that I had done wrong. The Holy Spirit led me to leave the indigenous
church and I joined the Baptist church whose basic practice on belief and faith
are Biblical.
In 1992 I got married to one wife by the name Mary Nyongesa. In 1994 I was baptized and joined the Baptist Church. I served the church as general secretary. In 1997 I heard the call from God to serve Him as a pastor. I accepted God’s call but since I did not know how to preach I joined Bible School and God allowed me to complete the biblical studies in 1999. When my family members heard that I had changed my denomination, they started a war between my house and the Ministry. It was not easy to pass through this rough situation if God wasn’t on my side. My family stopped me from using the family land by occupying all of my activities that I was doing in the land such as fish pond, sugarcane plantation, tree plantation, bananas, cassava and yams. I was given a letter from the family members with a notice that ‘in one month’s time” I should leave the land and look for someplace to stay, but for God’s mercy there arises sympathy for I was given a plot to settle on. My brothers were given a piece of land three times more than I was given. Since the Bible says that all things belong to God, I praise him for what I have, mostly the gift of eternal life.
God has blessed me with 3 daughters by name Selina 14 years in Standard 6, Naomi, 12 years in Std 3, and Joan 5 years in baby Class. I am staying in a small thatched house measuring 12 x 12 square feet with a family of 9 people. I do farm on small scale planting vegetables, fruits, yams, sugarcane and bananas.
After
serving for 8 years as a pastor, I heard a call from God for changing my gift in
God’s Ministry. Now I am an apostle and I have planted a new church by the name
Kakunga Baptist that was started on 5th February 2006. the church has
increased in number from 8 to 120 members. The members meet under the shade of a
tree that has become dangerous since the wind blows strongly and breaks some of
the branches that fall down. In addition some of the spoken words are not heard
to some of the church members and rain has been starting to fall from morning to
evening without stopping hence this hinders some of our worship services. There
is no church member who has a room that can accommodate the 120 members. I am
praying for God to provide a church plot of 5 acres so that the community can
develop some projects for the community such a a nursery, primary and secondary
schools, a home for the loved children (orphanage), Bible Institute and Guest
House. The church members need a sanctuary building that can hold 600 people or
more. I have identified 10 places for planting new churches.
My vision on the apostolic ministry is to prepare the Christ church of tomorrow, and the mission is to declare the greatness of God through evangelism, discipleship and caring for one another. Activities being done are as follows: Visiting the sick in hospital every Wednesday, feeding programe for widows and orphans once a month, children crusade, open air meetings and I am also feeding 4 children who are staying with me.
I promise to remain faithful to work everywhere for God’s glory. I will extend God’s ministry to other countries like Uganda, Congo, Tanzania, Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia and Malawi. I do welcome churches, ministries, organizations, well-wishers, volunteers, donors, women groups, apostles, pastors, deacons, bishops and whoever is willing to join me in this ministry to be free to do so by writing to me.
Thanks you.

Additional information that I do have is that I have planted a new church among the ten places that I mentioned in the first letter. I have taken 15 children whose parents are poor that they can’t feed them and started the feeding programme that is done twice per week. Many people in this area are happy about this and they are promising to get saved and receive Jesus. Remember the first church that I used to meet under the shade of a tree, we don’t have any more shade for us because the heavy downpour of rain broke down the tree. Continue praying for the church in that Stan may not use advantage of destroying by telling them, “You can’t buy a plot and build a prayer house.”
Next the first planted church has started some ministries such as every Wednesday visiting the sick in the hospital who walk 20km on foot. And caring for the orphans and the widows. This ministries has enabled the church to reach the lost. Please apostle peter, I am planting for a new church so pray for me to get a servant to build it. On 26/10/2007 I graduated in Biblical Theological Studies. Here are some of the pictures I took with the children and youth. Here is my photo for the members page. I still request prayers from apostles, bishops, pastors, deacons, women leaders, churches, ministries, well-wishers, donors and volunteers to pray for the Kakunga Baptist Church to get a church plot of 2 acres worth 7,500 dollars and to build a house for prayers worth 441,437 dollars.
On the next page we have the plan for building a prayer house.
